Sandplay Therapists Association of Australia and New Zealand

STANZA

The Sandplay Therapists Association of Australia and New Zealand (STANZA) is a working group of Sandplay Therapists in Australia and New Zealand, committed to professional development for clinicians already working, or wishing to work with Sandplay Therapy.

STANZA actively support those therapists working towards an International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST) accreditation, as well as offering expert professional development to clinicians who are not drawn to that path.

Our working group includes Counsellors, Psychologists, Jungian Analysts, Psychotherapists and Social Workers who are clinical members of professional organizations such as PACFA, CAPA, ACA, ANZSJA, ANZATA and similar.

Sandplay Therapy

Sandplay Therapy is a therapeutic method developed by Dora M Kalff, student and friend of CG Jung, and is based on the psychological principle that there is a fundamental drive towards healing and well-being in the human psyche. Sandplay Therapy is characterised by the use in a sandtray of sand, water and miniatures in the creation of images within the 'free and protected space' of a defined therapeutic relationship.
